This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Oh yes, depending on which show it was, you might have seen them at, (maybe Soilwork/Darkane/Swallow the Sun I'm guessing), if you'd looked harder you probably would have seen me somewhere amongst the crowd or near the bar, mostly hanging onto a guy who would be hard to miss being that he has a GIANOMOUS curly french mustache that's tweaked at the ends and everything. That would be my old roommate, Lance, bahaha. At least it would have been nice if you'd seen him for your own shits and giggles.
Click The Mirror song, Where Hope and Daylight die. It's got that awesome myspace quality going on but you get the idea of his solo project, The Mirror and his guitar work.
Though the song was originally written by Summoning, the guitars are sped up immensely and tweaked. Also in the original vocals were done by a female.
Haha. Well, sorry to make you write so much, but I don't think his band is the one I saw. This band opened for Katatonia and Moonspell two years ago (Katatonia's first US tour!). The guitarist's solos reminded me of Morbid Angel a bit, except that he was playing at that skill level around age 20 and in a black metal band--definitely overqualified for his band.
I did enjoy that song you recommended by your boyfriend! I like the percussion style with his guitar work. A lot of people think blast beats are the only true method for "metal" drumming. I beg to differ. I definitely know what you mean about myspace quality, though. As long as listeners can get an idea of what an artist sounds like, hopefully that warrants seeing the person in concert.
Actually the drums are all "fake" or rather they're done by computer. He's just really good at doing natural beats for such things.
Personally, even with live bands I prefer natural drums. This is why I adore the drummer from Shining's Halmstad album so much. Absolutely amazing drummer, well timed, uses lots of variety with symbols and natural drums. I especially love Native drums when combined with bands, though this is rare :/
I <3 Moonspell. It's like... if beatnik's made music. Katatonia is nice sometimes too.
I figured you were off or describing a typical doom/black metal band, hahaha. His lead singer WAS a mammoth though, like 6'8 and relatively large in width, and the bassist is about 6'4 and built..... And their Femme vocalist is pretty bad.... And their keyboardist is very debatable on the description you gave, hahaha. I figured if you didn't describe the other ginger kid guitarist you were off though Ginger's are hard to miss, haha
Haha, indeed. Yeah, I could tell that the drums were with a drum machine (or a progam). I haven't heard much real metal music with generated drum beats. I could see it working for some artists, though. I do prefer real drums but I am not really one for tradition. I think some "phat" beats would make an interesting combo with certain types of metal. Experimentation is the shizznit, in case you were wondering.
Not to offend, but I don't like Moonspell. lol. I love Katatonia and I went to the concert to see them. I left after Moonspell had played approximately two songs. I hope you're only slightly offended.
A lot of people don't like Moonspell. I love them. Their albums have a nice groove to them and like i said.... It's like if Beatnik's made metal Especially their older stuff.
I'm not a diehard fan by any stretch of the imagination. Katatonia is great, but I'm picky about their newer works.
I would love to hear more native drums in music... that would rule. Such a raw sound to em.
Hey, sorry! I am currently in the middle of midterms so I'll write you back here in a day or two. I am from Fredericksburg originally, but I have been in Blacksburg full-time for a few years now (I study at tech, trying to get a second degree in geography).

"Discouraged Ones" is actually my favorite from them. Gorgeous album, the mood and vocals are lovely. I could listen to it all day.
